Chiva Riva's critically
acclaimed debut CD ¡Eso Es!, featuring original compositions, has
received frequent air-play time
on a host of radio stations world-wide, and deemed "a bit of a
favourite" on the celebrated Jazz FM in the UK. The band is currently
working on new material for the next CD which will be recorded LIVE so that
the real groove "somewhere between Cuba and Puerto Rico" can be
experienced. Other musicians playing with Chiva Riva have included Roberto
Pla, Puerto Rican trombonist Joe de Jésus (ex Tito Puente & Ray
Barretto), Cuban singer/multi-instrumentalist Bobby Carcasses and trumpeters
Jesús Alemañy and Omar Valle, Venezuelan sonero Miguel
Quijano, Spanish vocalist Isabel Fructuoso, Italian drummers Gabriele
Nuzzoli and Davide Giovannini, and Japanese bassist Kuma Harada. This is a
London band with a truly international flavour.
